Jani Master Case: Choreographer Confesses to Sexual Assault of Colleague

LATEST UPDATE ON JANI MASTER’S SA CASE.

Jani Master, a prominent choreographer known for his work on the film “Pushpa,” has been arrested following serious allegations of sexual assault made by a 21-year-old female colleague. Reports indicate that he has confessed to the crime, prompting further investigation by law enforcement.

The case was initiated when the victim filed a complaint, leading to an investigation by the police. Subsequently, the court placed Jani Master in 14-day judicial custody. The charges against him include sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), as well as violations under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, given that the victim was reportedly a minor at the time of the alleged assaults.

Initially filed as a zero FIR at Raidurgam, the case was transferred to the Narsingi police for further handling. A senior police official has stated that a petition for custody is likely to be filed soon, noting that the case against Jani Master is robust, significantly reducing his chances of obtaining bail.

In response to the allegations, Jani Master’s wife, Sumalatha, also known as Ayesha, publicly defended her husband during an interview. She categorically denied the accusations, labelling them as unfounded and claiming that they are part of a larger conspiracy aimed at damaging his reputation. She emphasized her long-term marriage to Jani Master and asserted that the nature of the allegations contradicts her understanding of him.

As this case unfolds, it highlights the ongoing issues surrounding sexual violence in various industries and the need for accountability. Authorities urge anyone affected by similar circumstances to seek support, reinforcing the message that victims are not alone in their struggles.

For those needing assistance, numerous helplines and resources are available.
