Atishi Becomes Delhi’s Youngest Chief Minister Amid Controversy

Delhi, September 23, 2024 — Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi has been sworn in as Delhi’s Chief Minister, becoming the youngest to hold the position. She described her role as a caretaker and placed an empty chair beside her, stating it would remain vacant until Arvind Kejriwal returns. This gesture has drawn criticism from the BJP, which questioned if Kejriwal would “run the government with a remote control.” Meanwhile, a Delhi court has extended AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan’s custody in a money laundering case until October 7, as the BJP gears up for a membership drive on September 25.
