In a significant crackdown on narcotics, the Delhi Police Special Cell has seized over 565 kilograms of cocaine worth more than ₹2,000 crore, marking one of the largest drug busts in recent times. The massive haul was recovered from a deserted house in the Mahipalpur area of southwest Delhi on Tuesday night, following a tip-off. The seized cocaine was intended for distribution across Delhi and other regions of the country.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Special Cell), Pramod Singh Kushwah, stated that the contraband was concealed in large sacks inside a truck coming from a neighboring state. Four individuals connected to the international drug cartel have been arrested in connection with the seizure, and further investigations are underway to trace their links to global narcotics syndicates.
This seizure, equivalent to 5 million doses of cocaine, is a major blow to the drug trade and could prevent a surge in drug addiction in the region, according to the authorities.
This operation highlights the ongoing battle against the narcotics trade in India, with police continuing to pursue leads on drug trafficking networks.
