Telangana Minister Konda Surekha has found herself at the center of a political controversy after making allegations about the divorce of actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Despite apologizing to the actors, she stood firm in her accusations against Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao (KTR), demanding an apology from him.
Surekha accused KTR of tapping the phones of actresses and blackmailing them, claiming these actions led to the celebrity couple’s divorce. The allegations have sparked outrage, with KTR sending a defamation notice to Surekha, labeling her remarks “disgusting and nauseating politics.”
Film Industry Responds
Veteran actor Nagarjuna Akkineni condemned the minister’s comments, urging her to respect the privacy of others and withdraw her statements. Naga Chaitanya responded, calling the claims “ridiculous and unacceptable,” while Samantha Ruth Prabhu stressed that their divorce was a personal, mutual decision and urged politicians to keep her name out of their battles.
KTR’s Legal Action
In response, KTR has taken legal steps, sending a defamation notice to Surekha. He has criticized the Congress party, accusing them of resorting to personal attacks instead of focusing on governance.
The Cost of Political Games.
The controversy highlights how political rivals often drag personal matters into the spotlight. While Surekha has apologized to the actors, the political battle over these allegations continues, casting a shadow over the upcoming elections in Telangana.
