Mumbai: Fire in Andheri’s Lokhandwala Complex Claims 3 Lives, Including 2 Senior Citizens

Mumbai – A tragic fire broke out in a high-rise building in Lokhandwala Complex, Andheri West, on Wednesday morning, claiming the lives of three residents, including two senior citizens. The incident occurred at Riya Palace, a 14-storey residential building, where the fire erupted on the 10th floor at around 8:05 AM.

According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the fire was classified as a Level 1 blaze, swiftly controlled within an hour. Despite the fire being contained, three residents who were injured in the incident were rushed to Cooper Hospital, where they were declared dead on arrival.

The victims have been identified as Chandraprakash Soni (74), Kanta Soni (74), and Pelubeta (42). The BMC stated that the fire was confined to a single apartment, and no further damage was reported.

Firefighters were able to douse the blaze quickly, preventing it from spreading to other floors. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
