The child was reported missing on November 18 from the Prem Nagar area, prompting her mother to file a kidnapping complaint. On November 21, her burnt remains were discovered in a bush near Ulhasnagar, close to the Hill Line police station.

He stated that he had “jokingly slapped” the girl, causing her to collide with a kitchen slab, leading to her death.
