Ratan Tata Undergoes Routine Medical Check-Up at Breach Candy Hospital, Clarifies Health Status

About Ratan Tata

Ratan Tata served as the chairman of Tata Sons from 1991 to 2012, and then again briefly as interim chairman in 2016. He is widely recognized for his contributions to the Indian business landscape and remains active in philanthropic efforts through the Tata Trusts.

Mumbai, October 7, 2024 – Ratan Tata, the former chairman of Tata Sons and one of India’s most respected industrialists, has been admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital for routine, age-related medical check-ups. The 86-year-old veteran started to reassure the public that there is no cause for concern regarding his health.

Tata, who was hospitalised earlier on Monday, addressed circulating reports about his health on social media. He clarified that the news of his hospitalisation due to a significant health issue was unfounded, emphasizing that he remains in good spirits. In a post on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), Tata urged people to refrain from spreading misinformation, stating, “I am currently undergoing medical check-ups due to my age-related medical conditions. There is no cause for concern. I remain in good spirits.”

Tata’s admission to the hospital initially sparked rumours about his condition, with some reports suggesting a critical drop in his blood pressure. However, these claims were swiftly dismissed by the industrialist, who reassured his followers that he was in stable condition.

In recent news, Ratan Tata was also noted for his business activities, including the sale of a 5% stake in Upstox, a Mumbai-based stock broking startup, which resulted in a significant return on his investment.
