The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) claimed that its leader, Arvind Kejriwal, faced an attack from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters during a padyatra in Vikaspuri, West Delhi, alleging that individuals attempted to approach him under the pretense of garlanding, raised slogans, and showed black flags. At a press conference, Delhi CM Atishi suggested the attack could have been fatal, stating that similar incidents involving BJP-linked individuals have targeted Kejriwal previously.

Reports hint that the attacker might have been carrying a sharp object.
If true, this is beyond shocking and raises serious questions about security lapses.

The BJP quickly rebutted the claim, arguing there was no physical assault but rather anger from locals over issues such as poor water supply. Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva countered, saying, “Locals wanted Kejriwal to address water concerns, not harm him. There was no attack, just citizens expressing frustration.”
Delhi Police echoed BJP’s stance, noting slogans and flags but denying any attack. They refrained from issuing an official statement, although video footage shared online by AAP shows a group raising slogans as police managed the crowd.
Atishi held BJP accountable for repeated alleged incidents and suggested political motives, while BJP leaders argued the event reflected public anger rather than any orchestrated attack.
