In a fresh confrontation between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Centre, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi was allegedly evicted from her official residence just two days after moving in. The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) accused Lieutenant Governor Vinai Saxena of forcibly removing Atishi’s belongings “at the behest of the BJP,” sparking political tensions.
The Lieutenant Governor’s office denied the allegations, stating that Atishi had moved her belongings into the bungalow before it was officially allotted to her. They added that her official residence remains at 17 AB Mathura Road, with the new bungalow to be handed over only after the Public Works Department (PWD) completes the inventory process.
Visuals showed Atishi’s belongings being removed, with a double lock placed on the residence. AAP claimed the BJP is attempting to take over the bungalow, while BJP leaders argued that proper procedures were not followed.
This incident has reignited tensions between the AAP and BJP, with both parties presenting documents to support their claims. The dispute comes days after Atishi took over from Arvind Kejriwal, who vacated the same residence after stepping down as Chief Minister in September.
