In the nail-biting race for Anushakti Nagar’s seat, Fahad Ahmad, NCP-SP leader and Swara Bhasker’s husband, raised alarm over possible EVM malfunctions after the 17th round of vote counting. Ahmad, who had been in the lead, claimed that 99% charged EVMs malfunctioned, allegedly giving double and triple votes to his opponent, Sana Malik. Amid his growing concerns, he called for a recount of the affected rounds (16th to 19th) and a formal investigation by the Election Commission (ECI). Both candidates are making their electoral debut, with the results expected to unfold shortly.
After round 16 and a steady lead in all rounds.. EVM machines that were 99% charged were opened and BJP supported NCP Ajit Pawar candidate took a lead .. @ECISVEEP @SpokespersonECI this is rank manipulation. We demand a recount of rounds 16, 17, 18 and 19. pic.twitter.com/Z2JuUyIQqc

Ahmad’s allegations come after Malik surged ahead in subsequent rounds, prompting questions over the integrity of the voting machines.

Swara Bhasker, his wife, also voiced skepticism on the unusual battery charge of the EVMs and their apparent bias in favor of the BJP-supported candidate. The controversy continues to unfold, with both sides awaiting clearer results.
