October 29, 2024: Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has accepted a job offer from Ola founder Bhavish Aggarwal, but only under specific conditions aimed at improving the company’s service quality. This development follows a public spat between the two regarding Ola’s after-sales service issues for its electric scooters.
In a recent post on X, Kamra expressed that he felt he had “no choice” but to accept the offer after being tagged extensively in discussions about Ola. He humorously noted that he already felt like an Ola employee due to the online engagement surrounding the topic.
I have no choice but to accept @bhash’s offer to work with OLA…

After being tagged thousands of times I anyway feel like I am an OLA employee.
OLA can seal this collaboration by committing to the below action points & looking forward to joining. pic.twitter.com/flqOgIkUo6
However, Kamra has laid out a series of demands that he wants Ola to commit to before sealing the collaboration. His primary conditions include:
- Service Commitment: Kamra insists that Ola Electric must address its service crisis and commit to completing all scooter repairs within seven business days from the service request at authorized centers.
- Replacement Solutions: If repairs exceed the seven-day timeframe, customers should receive either a temporary replacement scooter or a daily reimbursement of ₹500 until the repair is completed.
- Compensation for Delays: Customers should earn ₹500 per day for delays beyond the initial seven days, capped at ₹50,000.
- Insurance Coverage: Every new Ola Electric scooter should be sold with two types of insurance—one for the vehicle and another for service-related issues.
Aggarwal has not yet responded to Kamra’s detailed demands. The tension began earlier this month when Kamra highlighted the backlog of electric scooters at an Ola service centre, questioning whether Indian consumers had a voice in matters affecting their daily lives. Aggarwal retorted by suggesting Kamra either assist Ola in resolving these issues or “sit quietly.”
Since you care so much @kunalkamra88, come and help us out! I’ll even pay more than you earned for this paid tweet or from your failed comedy career.

Or else sit quiet and let us focus on fixing the issues for the real customers. We’re expanding service network fast and backlogs… https://t.co/ZQ4nmqjx5q
This exchange highlights ongoing challenges in the electric vehicle market in India, particularly concerning customer service and satisfaction. As Kamra steps into this unexpected role, the effectiveness of his proposed changes remains to be seen.
