Lookout Notice Issued for Actor Siddique Amid Rape Allegations

Kerala, India – A lookout notice has been issued for Malayalam actor Siddique following serious allegations of rape and criminal intimidation, as filed by a young actress. This comes after the Kerala High Court denied his bail request, leading Siddique to seek anticipatory bail from the Supreme Court.

In his petition, Siddique claims he is being “falsely implicated” due to an ongoing feud between the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (A.M.M.A.) and the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC). The actor resigned from his A.M.M.A. position after the allegations surfaced, which the complainant had initially raised in 2019.

Siddique has maintained his innocence, attempting to discredit the survivor’s claims by highlighting her social media activity. However, the Kerala High Court dismissed his arguments as “unwarranted and uncharitable,” citing prima facie evidence of his involvement in the case.

As the investigation proceeds under a Special Investigation Team (SIT), Siddique remains on the run, and the legal proceedings continue to unfold amidst a renewed focus on the #MeToo movement in the Malayalam film industry.
