Mumbai Viral Video: Fake Cop Extorts ₹50,000 From Woman Over E-Cigarette, Gets Caught on Camera

Mumbai – A shocking video has surfaced from Powai, Mumbai, where a man posing as a police officer attempted to extort ₹50,000 from a woman for smoking an e-cigarette. The incident occurred near MIDC Road, where the woman was approached by the man who forcibly detained her and demanded money, threatening to take her to the Powai police station if she refused to pay.

The woman, sensing something suspicious, quickly started recording the encounter on her phone. In the video, she can be heard confronting the imposter, who was sitting beside her in an auto-rickshaw, trying to intimidate her. The man, dressed in plain clothes, even vaped from her device, further adding to the shock of the situation.

The video shows the man hastily fleeing the scene once he realized he was being filmed. The woman’s quick thinking and presence of mind saved her from the extortion attempt, and the video has since gone viral on social media.

Netizens were quick to react, tagging @MumbaiPolice on X (formerly Twitter), demanding swift action against the fake cop. The police have yet to respond to the incident, but the viral video has sparked widespread outrage.
