The video, which quickly went viral, prompted swift action from the police department. Rewa Range Inspector General of Police Saket Pandey confirmed that Patel has been removed from field duty pending an investigation. An FIR has been registered based on the woman’s complaint, and additional scrutiny of the outpost’s conduct is underway.
