In a chilling incident in Bengaluru, a 21-year-old man, Aarav Hanoy from Kannur, Kerala, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his 19-year-old girlfriend, Maya Gogoi. Maya, a YouTube content creator and employee at a private firm in Jayanagar, was found in a partially decomposed state at a service apartment where the accused had been staying with her body for over a day.
Crime Details Emerge
Police reports reveal that Maya and Aarav checked into a service apartment in Bengaluru on November 23. CCTV footage captured them entering together. Allegedly, following a heated altercation, Aarav stabbed Maya multiple times, causing fatal injuries, including stab wounds to her chest and a severe head injury.
Shockingly, Aarav ordered a two-meter nylon rope online, receiving the delivery at the same apartment after the crime. He fled the scene later but was arrested on the outskirts of Karnataka.
Discovery of the Body
The crime came to light when staff at the service apartment noticed a foul smell emanating from the room. Authorities were alerted, and a police team, along with forensic experts, discovered Maya’s body in a partially decomposed state.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Maya had only recently joined her job, having moved to Bengaluru six months earlier. She lived with her sister and a friend in Whitefield before the incident.
Legal and Forensic Investigations
The police have launched a thorough investigation into the case. Forensic teams are examining the crime scene, while Aarav is being interrogated to determine the motive behind the murder.
