At the NVIDIA AI Summit 2024 in Mumbai, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, shared his thoughts on NVIDIA and why he believes its name holds a special significance. During the event, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang announced a groundbreaking partnership between Reliance and NVIDIA to establish state-of-the-art AI infrastructure in India, further advancing the country’s artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.

Ambani highlighted India’s potential in AI, emphasizing the strength of the nation’s youth and their ability to drive the intelligence revolution. He remarked, “India will be one of the biggest intelligence markets. The raw gene power and youth in India will lead the way not only in domestic markets but also globally.”

In a light-hearted yet meaningful explanation, Ambani said, “My version of NVIDIA is ‘vidya,’ which means knowledge in India. Vidya means Saraswati, our Goddess of knowledge. The Goddess of Lakshmi follows.” This symbolic connection underscores his belief in India’s power to harness AI and drive global innovation.

Ambani further reflected on India’s evolution in technology, stating, “Indians will not only export CEOs but also hundreds of millions of AI services to the world.” He emphasized the importance of AI in transforming India into an intelligence hub, moving beyond its software export legacy.

Huang echoed these sentiments, predicting India’s future as a leader in AI exportation. “India is no longer just a software producer; it will be central to the new industrial revolution powered by AI,” he said.

Ambani concluded by praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of an “aspirational India” and lauded the country’s digital infrastructure, positioning India as a growing innovation hub for the world.
