Non-Local Labourer Found Dead in J-K’s Shopian District

In a tragic incident, the bullet-riddled body of Ashok Chauhan, a labourer from Bihar, was recovered on Friday in the Wachi area of Shopian district, Jammu and Kashmir, officials reported.

Chauhan, who had been residing in the Sangam area of Anantnag, had been working with his colleagues harvesting corn. According to one of his coworkers, Chauhan received a phone call and left abruptly, only to be found dead a short time later. His colleagues tried to contact him, but their calls went unanswered.

The body has been sent for medico-legal procedures, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
