Referring to the recently released film The Sabarmati Report, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav alleged that certain individuals may have taken cues from the movie’s narrative to manipulate chaos for political advantage. He criticized the government, accusing it of exploiting sensitive situations to divert public attention from critical issues and failures. Yadav stated that such tactics undermine the core values of democracy, creating an environment of fear and mistrust.
In his remarks, Yadav emphasized that the deliberate focus on controversies serves as a distraction from pressing concerns like unemployment, inflation, and poor governance. He warned against attempts to polarize society for short-term political gains, asserting that such strategies weaken democratic institutions and divide the nation.
Calling for greater accountability, Yadav urged the public to remain vigilant and question the government’s priorities, stressing that the real issues impacting citizens must not be overshadowed by orchestrated chaos or political theatrics.
Akhilesh Yadav announced that the Samajwadi Party, along with opposition leaders, plans to address the issue in Parliament at the earliest opportunity. He also committed to sending a party delegation to Sambhal to meet the victims and assess the situation on the ground. The incident, which has heightened political tensions, raises broader concerns about law and order and the misuse of power for political ends.
