Telangana: Congress Leader Maru Gangareddy Stabbed to Death in Jagtial, MLC Jeevan Reddy Protests as Political Tensions Rise

Karimnagar, October 22, 2024: Maru Gangareddy, a prominent Congress leader in Telangana, was stabbed to death by an unidentified assailant in Jagtial district on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred in Jabitapur village when Gangareddy, aged 56, was traveling on his motorcycle. According to police, a car knocked him down, and when he fell, a person from the vehicle got out and fatally stabbed him.

Gangareddy’s body was later taken to the Government Headquarters Hospital in Jagtial. Initial investigations suggest the murder may have been motivated by personal rivalry, though the accused remains at large, and police are investigating the matter.

MLC Jeevan Reddy Stages Protest

Maru Gangareddy was known to be a close associate of MLC Jeevan Reddy. In response to the killing, Reddy and his supporters staged a protest, highlighting the escalating political tensions in the state.
