Zomato Delivery Boy Caught on CCTV Stealing Bag at Bengaluru’s Grand Mart, Police Action Underway

Zomato delivery boy was recently caught on CCTV allegedly stealing a bag from a visitor luggage counter at the Grand Mart in Basapura, Bengaluru. The incident, which took place on Thursday night, has sparked significant attention online after footage surfaced, prompting swift police involvement.

The CCTV video, shared on the X account ‘Karnataka Portfolio,’ shows the delivery worker casually waiting outside the supermarket entrance. With no security staff visible, he cautiously approached the unattended bag on a shelf designated for visitors’ belongings. After a quick look around, he picked up the bag, concealing it either in his delivery backpack or under his clothing.

The Bengaluru City Police acknowledged the incident after it gained traction online. Responding on social media, they confirmed forwarding the complaint to the South-East Division’s Deputy Commissioner of Police, ACP Electronic City, and the local police station for investigation.

This incident has raised concerns over security at public venues and sparked a conversation about the screening of delivery personnel. The police investigation must review CCTV footage thoroughly to confirm the suspect’s identity and retrieve any additional evidence.

The outcome of this investigation may prompt retailers to revisit security practices for safeguarding customer belongings.
